>didn't win the league for the first 6 years
>one of his first trophies was the secondary european competition (Club winners cup at the time)
Do you see a pattern here?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but United were a nothing club who didn't have a quarter of a billion transfer budget.
The two Manchester clubs have spent enough to buy a league winning XI this season.

money means nothing anymore

Lol?

>get the exact squad you want
>still don't come close
Yeah, not Mourinho's fault.
Aberdeen. Aber-fucking-deen

>turns literal whos into champions
>specialises in league titles
>rarely choke against the small teams
>decent but not amazing record against the big clubs
Hmm...

Explain yourself.

Shit in Europe too.

it means nothing. City have spent close to £200m on a defence no better than with Richard Dunne. United spent £90m on a midfielder not designed to be a prolific goalscorer. Even Watford turned down £30m bids for Troy Deeney ffs. Its all gone completely insane

A quarter of a billion transfer budget doesn't mean anything?
>>74336100
in a way, yes. Doesn't matter to the "big clubs", but obviously its a world of difference for the smaller clubs but they dont have those budgets. The gap between them is getting bigger in my opinion. Wont be long before £50m is the norm transfer fee being thrown around
>>74336190
The fact is that United and City have the budget to buy pretty much whoever they want. They can construct the exact team they want with few limitations and they're still not amazing.

Wow a brit >>74336015 who actully gets it kudos bro.
It's a fact the market for players is inflated like crazy atm partially due to china's willingness to spend big on average players but also because of pl money.
Spending huge means nothing these days if you can't into proper scouting etc because just because you throw 50 mil at a club doesn't guarantee a great player anymore like it did like 5 years back
United and City threw money around lime crazy this summer but look at United's defence or City's defence (and partially their midfield), both are subpar compared to what they are entitled to have. I mean if any of those players (safe for de bruyne) left the club barely anyone would recognise them.
United used to have players such as Vidic or Ferdinand pkayers everybody knows and respects. Now you have Phil Jones and Chris Smalling (who van gaal sometimes even forgot the name of).
Whenever I look at Pl teamsheets nowdays I cringe hard.
