Remember, Mourinho ended up adopting Benzema as his main one (after pushing him to train properly, using Higuain as a carrot) even though Benzema is weaker than Higuain. Benzema's game is much better for the team overall, so he's been Real Madrid striker for 6 or 7 years ever since.
