8 teams
After 14 games the top team qualifies for the playoff
Another 14 games top team qualifies

They playoff the winner is promoted
2nd and 3rd qualify for the Europa league playoff (the other teams are from bottom half of the TOP division)
5-8th go into a relegation playoff, they get half their existing points total
The bottom team of that is relegated and has to turn amateur

It's sillier than argentina
>>
>>74287468
8 teams.
Everyone plays each other twice for a league table August - December
Everyone plays each other twice for a league table January - April

The winners of both leagues play against each other for promotion (if one team wins both, they automatically get promoted)

The top 3 teams from the combined results (not counting the promoted team) play against the bottom 9 teams in the top flight in two leagues of 6. The winners of those leagues play each other. The winner of that match plays against the team that finished 4th in a championship league. The winner of THAT match is in the Europa League

Firstly, it's not clear Gotze did move for money. He might have thought he could have pushed his way into the first team. I think that's stupid.
Secondly, from a financial perspective, it's better if you wait a few year, move to a big club on a big contract and earn that money for a long time than go to a big club on a small contract and leave a few years later to go to a smaller club and earn smaller money all your career.

Manchester United has been unable to beat Chelsea in any game since 2012, back when Sir Alex Ferguson was in charge. However, Chelsea is currently at 3 wins, 2 draws, and 8 losses versus Manchester United in the FA Cup.

Manchester City's tie against Huddersfield was the first time the teams had squared off since the 1999-2000 season, when Manchester City's highest scorer was Shaun Goater

In the past 14 games (~31 years), Huddersfield Town has only come out on top against Middlesbrough once. In those same 31 years, however, Middlesbrough's record against Manchester City has been 17-7-7

Tottenham Hotspur hasn't played Millwall since 1990, and hasn't lost to Millwall since 1939, back when Adolf Hitler was in charge of Germany

Arsenal has never played Sutton United, and has not played Lincoln City since 1915. Lincoln City and Sutton United last played in August, where Sutton United beat Lincoln City 1-3

Real List

Friday - work goes quicker due to excitement, undisputed GOAT night for nights out, after work drinks, shorter days, offices usually get you lunch or give you longer lunch, lots of part timers have the day off so travel is less strained, buzzin
Saturday - football, big brekkie/brunch, another chance for a night out, hungover day with your pals before doing it all again
Thursday - tomorrow's Friday, thirsty thursdays means early start of a weekend of drinking, late night shopping so you don't have to go shopping on saturday with all the sheeple
Sunday - comfy, MOTD, super sunday, roast dinners, big breakfast, can be hungover, beginning to feel the dread
Tuesday - only during Champions League rounds are Tuesdays worth living
Wednesday - awkward phase between "what did you get up to at the weekend?" & "what are you doing this weekend?" conversations, Champions League is the only thing that saves it from being the worst day
Monday - fuck off, come downs, more strain on travel networks, Monday Night Football fixtures have been shit for ages now

Sunday evening is objectively the worst point in the week

A club whose owner is misunderstood by fans? If Kroenke really only cares about money why wouldn't he try and make the club the most valuable that he could so that when he sells it he will net the best return on his investment? Winning trophies means better commercial deals means the club has more value. I know you people are super smart and you realize that top 4 equals lots of money but don't you realize that winning the PL every few years and going deep into the CL means even more money?
>>
>>74319797
Well it looks like management is gonna get their wish to go back down. And there's hates and yeading, too.
>>
>>74319928
Just to compete for the PL/UCL you need to make investments with the potential to fail. Kroenke invests just enough to get top 4 and ocassionally win a meme cup and to reap the rewards that come with these successes. The potential gains commercially are not worth the immense risk that would come with the necessary investment.
>>
>>74320101
Correct answer. The amount of spending required to win is staggering and very risky. Chelsea and City have their owners, United have their commercial empire, all can afford to pay what is required.

Arsenal, 7th richest club in the world could also do it, but it would strain the bank accounts for no economic gain.

Arsenal is seen as the plucky, handsome lad, beautiful football, 4th place haha club. I don't think a league every 4 years will increase their value. But staying 4th on low net spend and high profits surely increases value!
>>
>>74320101
Bigger investment for greater return, yes. To get top 4 you need to make a certain level of investment that also has a risk to fail, no?

>Morrisons approach Sutton United goalkeeper Wayne Shaw to become official 'pie-taster' [The Independent]
wew lads
>>
>>74321579
Their sponsor had a bet going he'd eat the pie, he ate it and now the FA are investigating if it was rigged
>>
>>74321701
Supermarket chain Morrisons has approached ex-Sutton United reserve goalkeeper Wayne Shaw after Monday night’s FA Cup pie-eating antics.

The supermarket is keen to add the 23-stone goalkeeper to their ‘Pie Tasting’ team and has made quite the offer: a year’s worth of pies.

Should Shaw accept, it’s expected the 46-year-old will join Morrisons on a one-year deal, joining the backroom staff as a Pie Taster.

Morrisons’ Chief Pie Buyer Tessa Callaghan said: “We’re always looking for the best talent to taste our pies and make sure they hit the back of the net.

“Wayne’s performance last night sets him apart as one of the country’s most famous pie connoisseurs.

“We were really impressed by his commitment to pie eating, and we understand that a good pie is the best way to warm up for any occasion, even if it is the biggest night of your football career."

English players will always come with a premium and priority in England, especially a club like Man City that struggles with home grown players
>>
>Aguero
>>
>>74324564
It's not a matter of paying high fees, it's buying players who are not good enough. We can blame Poop, and we probably should, but when it's every team that buys players who don't cut it, you know there is something wrong.

I mean, I don't watch ligue 1 so I don't know how good they are, but in the past few years already 3 "top" english teams got btfo by them (I am including City today), and this shouldn't happen with the money difference.
>>
FALCAOOOOOOOO
JOHN STONES

THIS GAME
>>
>>74324684
Its not even the price - Its well documentated that England overrates their own players. Any player that has a half decent season will e considered by a top club for the fact they're english and especially because they help meet home grown rules.

There's also the fact that English teams always underperform in europe because they can only stretch resources so far
>>
>>74324880
City are arab owned and Spanish managed, they shouldn't fall for the English youth hype.
>>
>>74325006
they need overhyped youth to fulfil the home grown quota
>>
>>74325098
can't they just buy ok english players like shawcross, rodwell and the likes and never play them? reckon shawcross would have done better than stones too
>>
>>74325098
You don't 8 HG players, you simply can't register more than 17 non HG. This for example means that they should sign decent backups and not overrated starters.

It's not only a matter of english players though, it's not only Stones who isn't good enough. The whole defence isn't good, for once.
>>
>>74325138
>rodwell
