if they spiked the ball 3 times and kicked a field goal right after that catch then that would've been one of the great plays in super bowl history and atlanta's shining moment.
instead it will be forgotten in a year

kek would be GOAT if he actually said this
why didn't Seattle run the ball?
Why?

Because Lynch struggled on the goal line and they only had 1 timeout, if they wanted to use all their downs they would have had to pass at least once.
OH NO!!!

imagine going from working at popeyes for minimum wage, to being called up by the patriots to play for them. Not only that, but you make one of the greatest plays in super bowl history and now have two rings.
>>74274163
>they're making a movie on Malcolm Butler
>the movie will likely end w. this interception
>tfw Hollywood will immortalize the Seacucks decision to pass instead of run

I'm so glad this game was on NBC
Can you imagine Joe KEK calling this play?

Even The Immaculate Reception was only in a playoff game, not the super bowl where everything is on the line.
This past 3-5 years have been some of the best years of sports we've ever had. The Cubs won the world series for Christ's sake

Mfw Brady almost threw a pick on 1St and goal in OT against the falcons
>>74277168
They could just pack the line of scrimmage and maul it over.
>>74282680
Mid to late 2000's were better.
>>74291823
Lynch converted just 12 out of 27 runs from the 1 yard line (and fumbled once) in 2010-2014.
It's not as easy as "pack the line of scrimmage and maul it over"
>>74291823
Sneaking it in isn't as easy as Brady makes it look.
can someone explain what is pick 6? why is it 6?
t. american football connoisseur
>>74292026
Touchdown = 6 points
Pick 6 = interception returned for a touchdown
You only add 1 or 2 extra points after scoring the touchdown
>>74278846
I didn't believe it either, pretty unreal. The guy was a good worker too.
You know Bill had someone call that popeyes and ask about him and if the answers were anything but "he's always here early, he works hard" He'd probably still be at that popeyes.
>>74291959
this
The truth:
There were 106 passes from the 1 yard line that year, and not a single one resulted in an interception
In that year Lynch had been given 5 attempts to run balls in from the 1 yard line and only succeeded once, on 2 of the rushes he actually lost yards
If they had run it and not got it, they would have had to use a timeout and be forced to pass anyway
If it wasn't picked off (which it was unlikely to have been in the first place) then everyone would be sucking his dick for making the genius decision to pass instead of running like everyone expected him to.
You think you got it, you think you understand. The other team practices too.

>>74292916
wasnt a last second interception and it didnt do anything to affect the game
fucking cardinals even led in the fourth
OH NO
>>74293032
you're an idiot
a 14 point swing affects any game
>the city jewdell
>>74293032
It was a 14 point swing in a game decided by 4 points... if not for that play Cardinals probably win in a blowout.
God Warner turned into such a fucking choke artist after his first season with the Rams. Two Super Bowls he threw a pick six in and lost by less than a touchdown.

WAKE ME UP
>>74277003
Cuz that play scores 9/10 times. Biggest reason for the int is browner recognizing it. Watch the replay, he motions the butler, and jams his reciever to prevent the pick. That play only works because he has practiced against seattle so much. Browner doesn't get enough credit
>>74275798
wow hes looking in two completely different directions at once
>>74316022
Both Browner and Butler knew the play. It was a play they practiced against multiple times in practice before the game. I don't think Browner gets enough credit for jamming the reciever and shutting down the pick on Butler, but you make is sound like if not for Browner being on the Seahawks the year before, there is no way the Patriots knew what was coming. That just isn't true. The Patriots coaches found the play favored by Seattle in game film and prepared their players for it accordingly.
>>74315997

yeah if you watch the NFL Films thing on that Superbowl they talk about planning for that exact play in their walkthroughs and Butler fucking it up in practice
