Aside from the fact that no one would go support a new team in the lower division, and the fact that no one would support their team if they get relegated, its also a matter og how sports are run here in the United States. The MLS is trying to Run the sport the same way Handegg or the NBA is run, and that doesn't really work well in the sport.

I mean, look at the MLS, its divided into an Eastern and Western Conference ffs. There is no one table with all the teams like The Premier League, La Liga, etc. We have a decent Second division in the NASL, that could introduce more teams into more regions. But as I mentioned before, the way sports are run and the plastic fans wouldn't support them.

well to be fair America is an special case, it's the biggest sporting nation in the world.

I mean, USA obviously has the infrastructure for it, but it also can hold it self with two top tier "regional" leagues pretty decently. It's not like there is a similar country to look out for what it's "normal"
