So VA is a state with barely anyone in it so I'm wondering if I can meet-up with anyone in the DC area and if anyone knows any interesting places there (I mean yeah there's the monuments but what else?).

Interested in recreational sports at all? Try a local team for whatever. If you're not the most athletic, you could still try ultimate frisbee. Unless you join an actual league, these are free or almost nothing.

There's some local board game and smash stuff but I'm not completely familiar with them.

Besides that there's volunteering, maybe take a class at NVCC, or get into a new hobby.
