Back when I used to use Tinder, I wrote girls names as an ice-breaker to stand out against the rest, with great success. I just fuck around and whatever happens, happens. I got hands like my grand paps.

I have zero writing talent barely remember how to write in cursive.
>>
>>25620202
Because, you know, handwriting above par=must be female. This is why calligraphy is a dieing art and why your grandparents are so good at it. Youth culture just goes for what's easy and fast. I approximate personalized calligraphy and handwriting to be obsolete within 50 years due to the advent efficiency of printed writing and writing closely pertaining to the way computers type Unicode characters.

Honestly, most female's handwriting is total ass. Cursive is their only saving grace, generally, but not always.

>>25620208
I adore your cursive, except for the way you write "r" 's. If you spent more time considering kerning and uniform letter size you would have admirable handwriting which would easily impress anyone if you were to write personalized messages.

Then again, I'm pretty hypocritical giving criticism because my calligraphy and handwriting is sub-par, at best.
>>
>>25620202
Being this retarded
>>
>>25620282
Nevermind, I bite my words. You have nice cursive. Your kerning could use improvement but otherwise this is functional, fairly balanced and practical for writing formally. I like how you took the time to procure a preliminary first draft before using more trade specific utensils. Good work!
>>
>>25620291
I appreciate the criticism. I had very terrible and illegible handwriting as a kid so was put into a calligraphy class where cursive was drilled into me. I found the loops pleasing so was more inclined to write so the flourish on my R was encouraged. My fine motor skills are sill lacking so I'm happy with my handwriting.
>>
>>25620349

Everybody is their own worst critic. Your writing can be refined, do the get me wrong, but you possess a skill which is slowly but surely dieing. Mark my words, there will be a point where cursive and aesthetic/stylistic writing will become obsolete in favour of sterilyzed, cookie-cutter unicode-esque typography. Rest assured your current capability is appreciated and encouraged.

*Don't get me, not "do the get"

Fucking hate autocorrect.
>>
>>25620396
I think there's a compliment in here somewhere. I'm definitely still working on my handwriting and am making an effort to handwrite at least one thing a day to keep the habit going.
>>
>>25620421

Of course there is! I adore your writing whilst admitting refinement to few concerns can make it stronger. You're well on you way.

I find the way you scratched your mistake out utterly charming. No sarcasm.

>>25620302
Thank you, I had to look up what kerning is...spacing could be partially funky due to not sitting at a desk...but I doubt it! I never write cursive ...so I should probably practice just to keep in the habit. Tha k for your kind words though. Any other suggestions? Practice drills?

The best advice I can give for practicing cursive is to first practice capital and lower case letters separately. There are grids and practice sheets you can download off the internet which are formatted to standard US print paper (8.5 x 11). Start with the alphabet, A-Z. When confident, you can begin writing sentences much like how you do now. Try an make your kerning uniform and evenly spaced, but this can be exaggerated when working solely with single words (ex. Beginning and last letter capitalized with inbetween letters lowercase and stylized). I recommend YouTube tutorials, because that is what really helped me. Other than that it is simply: practice practice practice practice. I strive for improvement whenever I have spare time and choose to allocate it to calligraphy and handwriting. Good luck! c:

Good advice! I've been into bullet journals for a year or so but I do not take as much time as I should. Practical over pretty i.suppose. although I appreciate beautiful handwriting! I'd love to get into the habit of handwriting letters hehe seems too sappy and too time consuming for most people to take part in. I'll have to look up some tutorials on YouTube, I've seen the practice sheets a few times while doing journaling. Are you going to write more things for us! Please! Here's my example of practical versus terrible cursive with out brush tip pen. It's gross... I apologise ahead of time
>>
>>25620515
Thanks. I did that because the eraser on this terrible pencil is a smiley face that is better at smiling than erasing so I tend to not use it. I really need to find a pen but I'm so lazy!

I think you must have very small writing! But I always prefer capitalized writing for practical day to day stuff. I hope you've had a better evening
>>
>>25622785
I do tend to use small writing. Seems to be more efficient...
Thank you for the sentiment. Things are better, apres-nap and distractions from feels.
