the only piercings I enjoy on a woman are a single pair of earrings

I don't. I think girls look cuter and more girly when they're clean and natural. Thats why I keep my skin clean and white, I don't hide my eyes and lips under makeup and I let my hair be long, shiny and don't dye it. Also, when I see someone with many tattoos and piercings it makes me think that they're way too obsessed with their own physical appearance, which makes me instantly avoid them.

Not a fem, but I'll throw in my two cents for what it's worth. 4chan in general tends to attract the more fringe members of society. You see a lot of the more nerdy, punky, and "alternative" set here than you would in a lot of typical social settings.

Those fringe members of society also tend to gravitate towards more expressive ways of identifying themselves, kind of as a way of saying "I'm different."

Now, a lot of you have pointed out that these things are becoming increasingly "normie" and not at all unique. That speaks more to our society at large (at least in the US). Used to be that a lot of businesses required suits and ties and clean hair cuts, but as the younger generations gain more power in the business world, they can shape what is considered appropriate. Our culture has become increasingly tolerant of alternative lifestyles (see: legalization of weed in some states and legalization of gay marriage). The normalization of the tats and piercings is just a reflection of that.
