Nah it was normie friendly because it was on Adult Swim and got a second season commissioned by Cartoon Network, it's a mystery show with a mecha and some very noir aesthetics, follows a batman-esque main character of Roger Smith as he solves mysteries and finds the answers only lead to more questions. Also features Dorothy, the best robot (a female android is called a gynoid reeeeee) girl in anime history.
