There's a pretty good collection of local events at The Perk though I haven't really been following them much lately to see how thorough they are. Looks like there are quite a few things listed on there at the moment. You can also find a lot of community classes at UFM Community Learning Center. Other than that, I would look for local groups on MeetUp.
