purely hypothetical situation, /soc/, but let's say you're a 7.5/10 sitting across from a cosplay qt in the lunch area of a local anime convention. she's super cute and you wanna finally nut up and talk to a girl for once.
what should i-- i mean, this hypothetical person, say to start the conversation?

I would tell this hypothetical person to make the conversation about her cosplay and her interests regarding anime and such. If it goes well, ask more personal questions maybe. But maybe starting off with "I like your cosplay, where is it from?", but I'm not an expert, just what I'd say

comment on costume. say that you'd love to take a photo of them later when they're not relaxing. ask if you can meet somewhere to takes photos later (if they'll be at a panel or something). chat for a bit. open the opportunity to then meet again (or not if they turn out to be horrible)
