oh no friend, the describe it the best I can, my life is sort of like a giant ocean, with a series of islands. as I stay on the island for too long, it starts to sink into the water until it's fully submerged and I'm left to float along and swim to the next, the islands of course being people, the ocean being suicidal thoughts. I tend to have the most awful habit of draining someone until they themselves either get depressed or leave. It's kind of just normal to me now, which almost seems indictative of a sociopathic tendency but I sure hope not. have a reaction image

my life is a whole buncha fucked up all the time but i'm trying really really hard not to let it get to me cause at this point i've reached the 5 year mark, and my cancer isn't *supposed* to come back now
but i'm guaranteed a leg amputation by the time i'm 40 and i have really severe PTSD from spending so much time in the hospital and from my leg literally just breaking as i was walking down the street

life is really hard and i'm just scared all the time that the next thing that happens to be is going to leave me in a state in which i will be completely useless.
my loved ones are the only reason i'm still here. i don't want to be a burden...

i'm trying really hard lately to think that way and to be more carefree. it's hard to let go of my past, especially when it's a daily struggle to walk sometimes. i'm in a lot of pain tonight, and that makes my depression really bad.

i have come to terms with the fact that at this point losing my leg would be the most efficient thing, especially with the new technology we have in prosthetic limbs...but i'm still so fucking depressed about it. I don't want to lose my toes...

Hugh Herr said there is not such thing as human disability, there is just a lack of technology to enhance them. I just...I hope someday that I'll be able to walk normally again. I hope that technology advances to the point where even as a prosthetic, it will FEEL like a leg...
