Ok /soc/, I need a little bit of advice. I've just been stalking girls on facebook (just a pastime of mine) and one friend of my friend seems like a perfect girl for me. I mean, literally. That's never happened to me, but after looking at her profile I've just felt like this is a girl that would either become my wife or the very best friend for the rest of my life. What should I do to meet her? How creepy would be to just contact her on fb? Our few mutual friends aren't people I'm close to.
don't. if you can somehow be at an event and say hi to her, then do it, then it's all fine, otherwse, you'll be that creepy person who talks to girls they don't know, which, if you're not in middleschool/have the ability to move across the country, will stick with you. if you want a shot, go to a party or something that she's at, if you can't, just admire her from afar and work hard on maintaining the nice social veneer like the rest of us do.

Yes, that was also my idea, but there's no party in any foreseeable future and she just seems too awesome to only admire from afar.

What I have done in that situation is and this may take awhile I did for me but start being more social with the mutal friends or make friends with people she hang out with and try to get an opportunity to talk to her make sure you know places she might go hang there a lot and are you still in school how old are u cus it all depends

I'm 21, she's probably a few years older (not sure tho). We study at the same university but our departments are far away from each other.

I'd like to avoid it, yes. But if anyone gives me a good idea on how to start a normal conversation with pretty much a stranger on fb, I'm desperate enough to try it.

no i mean why use facebook at all. its like you want people to know you.

Oh, right, I misunderstood. Well, my facebook is pretty much empty, I use it mainly for communication.

I'd start hanging by her department
