Lumber is a pretty good gig, most places pay well (starting 23ish, 27ish after probation). I'd recommend finding something small wherever you could, get a roof over you for a while and then try to get in. i earn 30k a year right now as a nurse. living in south germany.
going to major in nursing science in 2 years or maybe just teach nursing in heidelberg.
i've met countless lawyers or bankers who were depressed or even burnt out between the age of 20-30 who made more than 100k a year.
my uncles a lawyer too, he works in the netherlands and owns a boat that he barely gets to use. so i guess, if you're focused on a paycheck just do it.
i could lie about it and just claim i make 200k a second and i'm an electrician.

if i were to accept an offer in stuttgart i could earn 4.5k a month starting february, which doesn't mean shit.
it's extremely expensive to live decent in stuttgart. germany is like any other country and takes half of my money via taxes and i end up with almost the same amount of money i make now, 200 +/-.
life in different countries or even states or cities varies so much it really is pointless to even think to compare this shit. AND on top of that, i'd still earn more money than most of my collegues because of my contract i worked out, i work harder etc because i want to go on in life. most of them just want to work, don't put much into it and funnily enough, are women who earn less than me in a female dominant job.

People in this thread get so butthurt by hearing people make more than the norm. As someone who used to make about twice what I do now, I'd say that being happy with what you do is whats most important. I still have a very roomy economy and a comfortable life.
