I'll be spending my day off work cooking up some fried rice. It's hard to find a good Chinese place that's open December 25 here at the border of the Deep South

yes, because anyone who's not a Christian is obviously a male neckbeard...
seems like somebody's threatened their religious bullshit isn't blindly accepted by everyone
I celebrate Christmas but not for religious reasons. I celebrate it because it's a good time to get together with the people that I love and care about, have good food and give each other presents.
It's a time when a lot of people have time off from work and when families and friends come together... Much of the rest of the year it's too difficult to try to line up everyone's schedules to do something special.
And also, why should I be required to celebrate the Christian aspect of it when it's not really a Christian holiday anyway? They stole it from the Pagans and now I, and others like me, are stealing it as an excuse to have one time of year when the people that we love can come together and enjoy each others company.
Boo fucking hoo if you don't like it.

it's not really an "aspect of it" when it's the entire premise

Yes, and the tree and gift giving and the time of year that it falls on (and much more) all originate from Pagan traditions that pre-date Christianity but were adopted in an attempt to convert non-believers.
So, what's your point, exactly? Should I start wishing you a happy Saturnalia or Winter Solstice, then, since that's where Christians got most of their traditions from?
For me, and others that I know, "Christmas" is a time of year. It's "the holidays". Just as I have Thanksgiving dinner with my family but I don't celebrate the slaughter of Natives, I do gift giving and dinner with my family on Christmas for the same reason... Family. Period.
Lets hold you to the same standard then, Anon... I guess that you had better stop giving gifts, celebrating with a feast, and decorating (your house, tree, etc.) and so on and so forth since, you know, those are actually "Christmas" things.
