Hey /soc/, what's a good way to come off as confident? I need to step up my confidence game. I'm fine when the ice is broken and I get in the mood, but if that doesn't happen I just kind of stay in autism mode. Give me some tips to seem more confident and connect with people more smoothly.

Most overly confident people are absolutely incompetent. Try again.

I have had the same troubles.
You probably try too hard to say or do anything.
Which first of all is not neccessary and second of all brings about the feeling of being autistic and socialy challenged.
What about your demand for the attention of others?
Is it that which drives you? In some people this can take some more or less grotesque forms, and clearly also leads to being seen as weird. You see how it goes.
One thing leads to another and you're seen as inconfident which ofcourse helps feeling inconfident.
Competence, like the other anon said can help greatly.
When I know I can do then I am easy. When I am unsure I wobble.

You say overly confident. We speak of confidence.
Furthermore it's debatable as their competence clearly lies in being overly confident, or otherwise known as "being able to ignore ones douchebagness in order to achieve greatness"
