Two+ years ago it wasn't nearly as bad here, but now the board is *literally* infested with people who will ask anyone who is female, or has even the smallest possibility of being female, for contact info. From the girls from /soc/ that I've spoken to, ~50 messages is a pretty good baseline, or 10 messages a day for as long as the thread is still up. That's a lot. Traps get a shitload of messages, too.

As I said before, you have to understand how bad things are here before you complain, and judging from this thread, it seems like you have a distorted idea of exactly how shitty things are for females on /soc/.

I mean, when fgts.jp was the archive their stats page showed anywhere from 8,000-15,000 posts in a 24 hour period in 2013-2014. Archived.moe is current and has that number barely breaking 5,000 now. Let's be generous and say 80% of posters are male and 15% are female, with 5% being transexual. Lower posting volume means that there are less women (and men, obviously) but because there are exponentially more men than women on /soc/ you're going to notice the lack of the former rather than the latter.
/soc/ now is more geared towards conversing via third party media (kik/Snapchat/etc) and the lack of females (again, more noticeable because posting volume has dropped so much) is much, much more noticeable.

I enjoyed /soc/ best late 2011/early 2012. It might be an unpopular opinion because bitter, boring, socially inept people like to cry "circlejerk!" when known regulars/tripfags gain a following, but I believe a bunch of them actually encouraged more socialization (Hook, for example). Every single step taken has pushed to board more into Tinder hell, from the removal of the name field, to the board namechange.

Hell, I remember my very first visit to this board had an AMA from a couple guys who ran an adult store in NY. That was a fun, engaging thread. I never see anything like that anymore, the rare AMAs I see are from bland narcissist nobodies.

It may have started as a camwhore containment board, but there was far more socialization back in the day.
