I would suggest a holy trainer (or knockoff) for a beginner. Also good are the CB6000's, be careful of the knockoffs of those.

If you'd rather start with a cheap knockoff, I'd recommend looking up the "Rikers Chastity Device" on ebay. They usually run about $15 - $20

The Rikers is pretty much a direct ripoff of the Holy Trainer v1, with the main difference being the locking mechanism. I've never used a Rikers or HTv1, but the shame is very similar to the HTv2, so it should be about the same level of comfort.

And comfort is very important, especially if you're planning on wearing it 24/7. I've worn cages that didn't fit right, and they were just painful and unpleasant. Not the good, fun kinda pain either.

Also, I believe the Rikers only comes in the "normal" size, but if you like it and decide you wanna buy a legit Holy Trainer, I'd recommend considering the "small" one instead. I have both, and the smaller one (only 1.9" in length) is actually a lot more comfortable and easier to wear. Plus it has the added benefit of making you feel like you have a tiny dick :)

Finally, if you want one partially for sexual thrill/excitement as well, then do yourself a favor and get a solid color one. Clear is nice and all, but not even being able to see your dick at all just adds to the frustration. Pink is especially good.
