Listen to me when I say this does not happen. There is no leakage unless you gauge it (I'd guess leakage would start around a 14 or a 12 gauge, and wouldn't turn to actual disruptance of velocity until around 8).

I still have an open hole on the bottom (so technically I still have a PA) but skin and tissue pusesh back into place when nothing is obstructing it. That pressure keeps anything from getting through. It's not like a literal hole, it's like an earlobe piercing, where it's effectively closed when nothing is in it.
