Don't worry man. I've noticed that the /shut/ discord has gotten highly populated so there's bound to be a few other people you can relate to. The in-crowd is only a portion of the entire place. And new people seem to be flooding in all the time, so just get cozy with them if you can and form your own little group. Then from there you all can journey into the larger, "in-group". There's usually some quieter people in voice calls too so you might want to get to know them also somehow.

I'll be honest and say there's enough crappy people in this community, but there's some genuine people you can relate to as an introvert.

Plenty good people on the new discord, lost a couple older users but we've had new shuts come in too. The admins have sort of stepped up their game.

The circlejerking is truly real sometimes in vc with eg. Momo drawing all the attention to herself every time she appears by blabbing her heavily colored le edgy problematic teenagegirl stories or otherwise attention whoring. She is also a mod for no other reason than the color, same for squirtle as neither of them ever do any moderating. The only moderator actually willing to do the job is on a "trial" status right now with most mod commands not even working for him.

Despite all this, the server is a positive experience and well worth checking out. I've personally made many friends and I look forward to the shitposting in shut every day after a long day of work. Most of the drama can be avoided by leaving vc or just by swapping channels / exiting vc when the channel gets too full or the loud conversation derailing people get there. New people also need to realise it's still a 4chan server despite it being advertised in /soc/ so don't expect a hugbox without bantz. I've seen new people leave after the first mildly sarcastic remark they see so I'm just putting this out here. We have people from all walks of life in here, don't be a stranger.

I took a trip to see my penpal and in 14 days I've seen him once. He hasn't been ignoring me (we've keep up our correspondence for 2 years), he's dealing with a lot of shit and I came and an incredibly bad time. I use analog equipment for a couple of reasons so I have to get it developed after I get back. If I had chosen the film I was shooting at any given time, I would have used one of my B&W rolls and pushed it to ISO 3200 (you can under-expose film and then compensate by over-developing it) & (by the nature of my sleeping schedule, I'm more likely to be out after 7PM). I also only have two fast lenses.

Don't worry, I find it nice to discuss it still. I don't know why.

Some days are harder than others. Ever since I broke up with her I've felt different. Free, more motivated even, but empty.

Everyone says the end of our relationship was out of my control... she said so, my friends said so, even I feel so. I miss her though even then.

Whenever I play the first five tracks of my favorite album, I can't help but divert my thoughts toward her. It sucks. I wonder if she feels the same way as I do when those tracks start. I doubt it though. At this point, I'm probably just a footnote to her.

And right when I feel like I can turn things around and start something new, I just remember what we said to each other and what we planned to do. And it makes me think. Meh... It's nice to meet new people and get close to them, and it isn't like I'm more guarded; I just don't know if I'm ready to understand what this all meant to me and how I'm supposed to react to people in the future, romantically or platonically. I guess I'm saying I'm just a little more numb.

Romance without friendship is pointless. If it's all about lusts or kinks I don't give a shit. Or infatuation or whatever. I fall in love easily but only with specific people after a certain amount of time. I just want someone who can help me grow and learn with them. Someone to spend time with that is not necessarily romantic. Just someone to spend time with.

Well, currently nothing, but he only has special pellets. I have some goldfish flakes for the little black moor that lives in there with him and I feed him those too sometimes, but he usually just eats the pellets..
Unfortunately they have a shitton of protein and not enough fiber... That, and the fact that he's so big I'm not really sure how much to feed him, is why he's obese.

I might get a pond for my fish, but they don't currently have any outdoor enclosure. the parakeets are indoors, but by a window so they can feel the fresh air and get all the sun they need. the hamster would die in his ball if I left him outside in the sun and the duck lived in the bathroom until it's foot healed. now she lives at a park with a bunch of other waterfowl.

Anybody here playing Civ 6? I'm looking for someone to play some relaxed multiplayer. Not looking for try-hards though.

The pigeon was a gift, the parakeets were kinda a spur of the moment thing and so was the hamster, one of my dogs I rescued from the pound as a puppy and the other two my friend didn't have any space for and the fish are really cute...
In other words, it makes me less sad to have a reason to get up everyday.

Moss balls live for 100 years and they're a pretty easy pet... And they're good luck charms
Giant snails are pretty cute and live for..I think it might've been 40 or 60 years but I can't remember... some breeds of pigeon can live up to 40 years. but usually live for 10 to 20...some tortoises can live for 80 years and reach the size of a dog and they're also pretty easy to take care of...I'm sorry for your loss, though.
I lost one of my dogs recently and I know how hard it is...

Also, I was going to taxidermy my goldfish, but after reading a taxidermy site introduction page I realized sometimes you gotta just move on... Having my goldfish's courpse would've messed me up and made it harder for me to cope with death and change.
If you want a dog then just make sure you could give it the longest happiest life you possibly could... Then you won't have much of a reason to be so sad. We'll all die eventually.
buuut it does suck. and if a pet with a longer life expectancy seems right for you aswell, then go for it. (African snails are illegal in some counries)
