Can this count?

This one here is the only tattoo that I have, but it's right over my heart. Dedicated to my dog Lucy, who I loved dearly.
I know it's a little rough at points but I haven't had the money to get it touched up. also the spacing on the paw, pads is completely natural as that was taken from an ink stamp of Lucy's paw.
some amazing work in this thread too! Keep it up. I can't wait to get more myself.

I chose a pinecone to represent the neighborhood I have lived most of my life, which name is El Pinar (spanish for Pinewoods i guess).

I'm thinking of keeping with the time theme on that arm and get more stuff like a grandfather clock, a stopwatch, maybe even a sundial, and then on the other arm have a space theme. Starting from the wrist do a night time forest up into the moon around my mid arm, and then behind the moon explode into the stars and galaxy

I really like the strong lining around the flowers. The use of colour is pretty incredible too. Haven't seen many artists who can do that water colour type effect.

I have had this on my sternum about 5 years.

I picked a cicada because its the sound of darkness. I took long night walks due to insomnia when I was a teenager. The cicada originates as a nymphs underground for around 17 years. I got it mostly to commemorate those meditations I did with their ambiance.

Those were the stages of my tattoo the colored is obviously what I ended up with I've always been torn between the shaded and colored I love the colored cause not many people have color as far as what I see but I feel like the shaded looks better open to opinions would greatly be appreciated :)

While I can appreciate the artistry involved in some tattoos, the fact that they get old, faded, and outdated as fuck in just a couple years, really prevents me from seriously thinking about getting one.

They last more than a few years. I've got tattoos that are 4 or so years old that look as fresh as tattoos a couple of months old.
There's an old guy that comes into my local pub covered in tattoos that are 40+ years old and sure they're faded and blurry, but then everyone looks like shit at that age. Personally I really like the way they look when they're old, but he could easily get them touched up if he didn't. And tattoo machines and inks have come on a long way so mine will be lasting than his did
