So, there are a lot of misconception to read about Hymens.
Some are trying to tell to young girls that tampons and masturbation don't injure them at all, which can be true if done right, but not by default. This also lead to the misconception that if you stretch it out, it will go "back to normal", which led to a lot of problems for religious girls.
Others tell them that it has to be like this and just "go for it", or which is the most weird thing, that there isn't even any sort of a hymen existing, just to made them completely unsuspecting put tampons or toys into their vaginas, or let it done by their first bf. Both of this can potentially cause a not dangerous but still distinctly visible life-long injury.

What we got yet:
Every person with a proper biologically grown vagina does have a hymen
The rim of an intact hymen can be more or less significant
The intactness is determined by the stability of the rim
A hymen can become broken as in not intact anymore by:
-tearing or partially tearing by penetration through too big objects or too less lubrication
-partial detachment of the rim by pressure from the inside through early tampon usage, or bending of a finger inside
-stretching/thinning out by penetration through in size increasing objects
Different "types" of hymens depend on the above
A Hymen keeps existing, even if it's not intact anymore
Hymens never should get torn, or detached which is an injury
Hymens should get stretched out by masturbation, or getting masturbated with in size increasing objects and proper lubrication
Hymens don't go "back to normal". They heal, just like a stretched, or torn earlobe would heal. But it never will become as before
There are guys on the hunt for girls with intact hymens to injure them on purpose
There are guys who don't know how to stretch out a hymen properly
So, the only save and healthy way for a girl not to get her vagina injured is to stretch her hymen out by herself.

I quite enjoyed the last thread.
It would however be nice to see some more actual women with actual hymen stories or experiences.
