Eh. I'm getting increasingly... melancholic. I gradually feel like my few IRL friendships are changing for the worse - they're getting older, have jobs/careers/continued education, they're more productive, seemingly more stale and less, uhh, openly communicative. More 'safe' in a restrictive way. It actually kinda bothers me how popping open a chat window with them is just more silly office-friendly meme spam for hours at a time anymore; I thought that kind of behavior would become minimized as they got older, but ironically, it just seems like it tripled.

It also feels far more like eggshells when something resembling an actual discussion happens. It feels like half the time I talk, they find it either depressing or critical in a way that makes them defensive - or I'm just posting a funny meme ahaha here's funny meme response back. It's hard enough to push myself to talk to them in general, and then...

I know what they're feeling, but I don't feel it anymore. Everything is distant and I don't even know why they attempt to keep me around anymore. I guess I'm fun sometimes? Do they understand how non-functional I am, or is my non-functionality why I'm still around?

That's one of the things that has me questioning whether or not to actually play. From what I understand, booster drafts involve opening seal packs, picking a single card from that pack, and passing the remainder to the next player with the packs rotating until everyone has built a deck. I would hate to draft a bad deck not fully understanding the game/cards and be put off of playing again.

The game's not extremely complicated, so if you've got someone to explain what you'd want in a deck and how the mana system works you could probably have enough knowledge to build a deck that is playable, I wouldn't be too worried about people having broken decks if everyone's building them from booster packs, though. Even losing you'll probably still enjoy the experience, to be honest. I did, and my friend said he did, too.
