Metal nerd here. Pretty self explanatory. I and the majority of my friends listen to metal and play dnd, watch anime, and read comics etc. I'm really into death and grind but have a soft spot for power and sympho. Generally I'll be rocking one band logo or another.

Mathematics nerd here. Spend most of my free time studying, including walking around in public and ranting about math to kids I knew in high school. I listen to all sorts of different music, but mainly classical, EDM, and acoustic stuff. I don't interact with enough people to project my subculture, but I guess being an introvert IS projecting my subculture.

I'm autistic. Does that count?

I'm "more" autistic when I don't have my anti-depressants and anti-anxieties, but whenever I am off my rocker or drinking I'm like the Rain Man - without the being a genius part.

I disliked math in school. It's taught without showing why it's cool or interesting, really. I got into higher math my sophomore and junior years of highschool by reading Wikipedia articles, and asking lots of questions. That's really the trick: come up with interesting questions for yourself, and then try to answer them yourself or find answers online. I found myself asking more questions about the answers, and soon I understood the material.

What level are you at right now? I can supply some examples of "good" questions to ask.

How big is cyberpunk as a subculture anyway? I don't think I've ever encountered it outside of fiction.

I've gone far into the hell that music creates, going into drone and noise them falling more and more. I've been trying hauntology and some other genres and it's been a bugging blast, but my norm stuff is metal and progressive. Blind Guardian, Ayreon, Opeth are a few.

Idk depends on the persons heinseight I suppose. But, im a metalhead stoner sk8erasuhdude kind of person i guess. Don't really project it to much (from southern Louisiana people just assume im super redneck) personally can't stand country, rap, r&b etc (new school anyway). Idk I guess I dress pretty redneck usually just blue jeans t-shirts (most of my band tees are old and tattered) and shit kickers because I like the convenience of them, not to mention people less Dick with the "redneck" community around here. Sure! So, with algebra, it helped me to play with lots of so-called "toy examples." When you learn something new, test it out, bend it, try to break it. The theorems they teach are going to be true, so you likely won't find counterexamples, but testing weird examples helps improve your understanding.

If you count the Metal and Beer culture as 'subculture', then I guess both of those.

Mainly into Black/Death/Doom Metal (along with various other styles of music) and good beer. People don't realize how fanatical beer people can be, especially around special releases and the like. It's crazy.
