I used to love Blind Guardian, back in the day.

I don't listen to thrash, per se, but I listen to Revocation, Goatwhore, and Black Fast. Those bands are death/black metal, but also have a thrashy sound to them.

Currently "in between" bands. I'm a vocalist that sounds like Mikael Akerfeldt (or Chody from Protest the Hero. Depends on who you ask), which limits the bands I can perform in.

Dude, the only thing "Astonishing" about that album is how piss-poor the writing is. I mean, they're pretty much the reigning kings of melodic death metal; it's pretty hard not to.

They're also SUPER friendly. Will always spend time chatting with fans after a show. Great act all around. Just wish I could see them do more than a 75-minute set so they could do one of their longer songs.

Also, I'm not ashamed to say that I nearly started crying when they played "Weighed Down with Sorrow" last time I saw them.
