I love Imax but there's a cinema near where I work that doesn't have Imax screens but also has barely any customers, so I get to watch movies almost by myself. I went to see Inception a few days after it came out and the cinema had literally 5 people in the entire place. For GotG my friend and I were completely alone (yet still not allowed in the VIP seats, what a crock of shit).

I live with my mom's side of the family and we're lower middle class so we can't afford things like imax, but my dad's side is verrrry rich. I'm talking building their own two story houses on their own land with like 6 bedrooms and a basement rich. I don't see them a lot but when I do I always get spoiled, I never even look at the prices of things when I'm with them. the problem with post-impressionists is that they lack the appreciation for dynamics in colour and light (chiaroscuro if u want to be fancy). not that i'm a disciple of the classical schools but i think you need some degree of realism to stimulate the sublime. people like van gogh and TL have a tendency to substitute technique for an overemphasis on texture.

understandable. I'm a musician so my knowledge of visual art is not quite as refined as it could be since of course, I gotta focus on my own trade :p but yeah, I get what you're saying. I enjoy post impressionism because the style feels sort of... raw, if that makes any sense. Because it lacks the precise attention to detail like you'd get in some other movements, I feel that there's more of a raw emotional element that is very nice.

However, I just enjoy art in general. An art museum near my house has a Rodin exhibition going on that's a big deal and I plan on getting over there pretty soon.

depends on the conservatory tho... if you want to avoid the ego tripping pick a smaller one that is still great but isn't in the middle of a city or anything. and um, I've always been partial to baroque. The oboe actually is very big in baroque, lots of works for it written actually. Vivaldi, Bach, Telemann, Handel... you name it, they probably wrote at least one concerto for oboe.
