Get an flist, it makes organising a lot easier.
You can put game info on the profile (for starters, timezone and timeframe); put specific kinks you want or do not want (and the players do the same).

It helps even if you end up running it on skype.

Guys I think I just got turned down in the nicest, most considerate kind of way you can turn someone down without explicitly turning them down. Being told the score straight up would feel better.

Pull some of that stuff out into the open! Lay the basics out for everyone to see, so you have some at-a-glance appeal, to entice people into checking out the rest of the profile.

Have less words. I know, it sounds counterproductive on a site about writing, but brevity is the soul of wit. Just nuke some of those collapses entirely if they're not necessary, or combine them and shorten some of them. There's a whole sea of potential partners out there, so you want to catch people's attention fairly quickly, because nobody's going to read pages and pages of profile for just one partner if they're not yet sure they wanna play with you. Think of the profile as an ad, a commercial. The product you're selling is you.

On that note, more customs. The product you're selling is you, and the best way to showcase that is with appealing, personal descriptions of things and themes you like. Telling people what you like about a particular kink and why makes it easier to come up with ideas about how to include it in a scene, how to present it. (Also there's a checkbox in the profile options that'll automatically put custom kinks at the top of the list rather than alphabetical. This is literally the best change they've ever made to the site.)

My first advice is to not use that art. I've seen it used for almost every single catboy profile, to the point that I didn't even realize you were someone new until I saw that your profile was only an hour old. I can only assume it comes up on a google search for "catboy". And a quick Google search tells me I'm right. Use Gelbooru.com to find better art, that probably fits your character more. Just keep in mind that you're searching by tag.

A large number of the initial influx of people the thread got from changing boards didn't stay, and after that /soc/ doesn't give us the sort of numbers we would need to make up for the natural decline in numbers a general experiences as legacy people move on or real life forces them to. The problem runs deeper than that I think. Plus, we already do that for the most part, and centering ourselves around the production of profiles and help instead of actual smut seems counter productive in my eyes.

The only real fix to numbers would be to have a board where our particular brand of smut making actually has a market, but unless our Yakuza overlord gives us a /smut/ board I don't see that happening anytime soon. /tg/ was really the most ideal place for this brand of ERP.

I feel like custom Nos come off a bit whiny most of the time, so I'd mostly only use them if it was something that's not already on the system kinks (like my old "Infantilism" No, since Ageplay here refers to something else, and Diapers only addresses part of what I don't like).

There was a bit of a misunderstanding with one of my players, so I need someone to fill the fourth spot in this Werewolf game.

Looking for someone to learn WtF2e in like three days who can make a Thursday or Monday timeslot at 8pm EST. I can help you learn the game's setting/mechanics if need be.

We'll be doing character creation where we make NPCs and social connections together on Thursday as our first official "session".

Setting is Gotham City, because I'm more comfortable using a fictional city. Most of the DC universe stuff you know about (superheroes) doesn't exist here. But Gotham has a lot of spooky plothooks like swamp zombies and crocodile people living in the sewer, so I figure it's a good setting. Plus, I have a map.

I don't generally reply to notes because I doubt I could turn someone down in a non-hurtful way. Sometimes I do, but it still feels like putting down a deer. "I'm not really interested in anything you just said". Sometimes I give "I'm not actually RPing these days, though I did like your idea".

Being told "I'm not interested in anything you just said" is like being set free, a carnivore in a sea of tasty bodies, after finding some uninteresting prey that doesn't taste good; "blah blah blah I care more about my self-conscious discomfort than treating you like a person" just sets my blood boiling. Worst is that the obvious lies make me doubt even the legitimate times when people say "I can't, but I really love your idea and want to do it as soon as my schedule clears up" and not only mean every word but actually deliver on their promises.
