I guess the main flaw with your argument is that you fail to produce a nontrivial zero of the Riemann zeta function with real part unequal to one half.

Yes, but he presented his argument in LaTeX, so it must be legit. I suppose you *could* present a counter-example to the Riemann Hypothesis by scribbling down a non-trivial zero of the zeta function whos real part does not equal one half on a piece of paper, but who would want to be so plebian about it?
