Is genetic engineering going to be completely banned? Especially on crops and even more so on humans? It seems like the majority is against it.
No, companies make too much profit from their modified food and are able to bribe politicians with lobbyists and donations to their campaign funds. There also isn't any evidence that they're bad for you to spite extensive testing.
Genetically modifying humans bans might happen, but I think people are too scared that if they ban it, some other country will do it and get a massive advantage.
>It seems like the majority is against it.
The majority never matters. Will this cheapen production and create more profits for industries such as food? Yes. There's your answer as to whether genetic engineering will be banned.

what's so funny? the fact that someone from a country other than china is participating in genetic engineering?
Cybernetics is already happening. Prepare to be obsolete, meatbags.
Genetic engineering should only be used to switch off genetic diseases.
Likewise, cybernetics should only be used to replace lost or inoperative limbs.
We all know it won't stay like that for long though.

Yeah maybe some crazy small euro countries will ban it or third worlds
It's impossible to stop though because people will just do medical tourism for enhanceemnt. Crispr foods are already hitting shelves too and no one cares.

Humans have been genetically modifying things since literally the dawn of civilization. It started when we modified wolves into dogs, then grass into wheat, and boar into pig, aurouchs into cows, ect. In some cases this took awhile, the reason why the ancient egyptians rode chariots is because the horse hadn't been bred (read-genetically modified) to be big enough to ride directly yet.
Will companies like Monsanto abuse recent advances in this technology? Absolutely. But then literally every single piece of technology humanity has invented has been misused at some point. If we ban GMOs on this logic, we might as well ban every new invention.
