Thats not the problem. The problem is confirmation bias. You can't just conclude that freudian structures exist because a few neurological phenomena resembles some of the things he said. There is no reason to assume that any of those processes are anything more than just that, neurological processes.

Its also interesting that both freud and the ideas its being compared to were greatly influenced by the same person ; helmholtz, who came up with the idea of unconscious inference.
