In terms of purity, what's more more pure, mathematics or philosophy?
Math.
Philosophy is bullshit for pseudo intellectual stoners.
>>9133539
A mixture of both.
Mathematics was created by humans and philosophy is humans pondering theit existence and the world around us.
>>9133539
Philosophy.
Math is a derivative of philosophy, and is therefore less pure in terms of sequential value.
>>9133563
to extrapolate.
Philosophy is about logic and answering tough questions with incredible cognitive effort.
Math is based on logic, and anyone can do it.
>>9133539
Philosophy is less pure because it's expressed in verbal language instead of purely in terms of its own dedicated symbols. It's also often concerned with extremely far from pure social topics.
>>9133539
Mathematics.
Having axioms takes out the subjectivity.

>muh logic
Logic is grounded in lived experience. Formal logic is a manipulation of lived experience and is faulty because we can't actually communicate our selves very well.
>>9133597
>is faulty because we can't actually communicate our selves very well.
and mathematics escapes this problem how?
Also mathematics is also based on logic which is understood by lived experience. You learn that 2 rocks can be seperated into 2 groups of 1 rock.
I went ahead and talked with my hyper-intelligent little sister (who is godly in mathematics). I came to the conclusion that mathematics and logic are both equally pure because they both rely on logic.
>>9133539
Not philosophy in general but logic is purer than mathematics (most logic comes under philosophy).

> Average IQ start after 100.
Spotted the mathfag who fakes cruves but can't into math.
>>9133685
Have you considered the selection bias in a sample consisting entirely of university graduates?
>>9133702
Balanced by affirmative action ; whe should still get roughly 100, maybe even less for some fields.
Also, the "everyone in physics is a genius" meme. This data is just faked by a physicist. Way too well correlated and way off what's really possible.
>>9133708
>Balanced by affirmative action
wew lad.
I do agree on the graph being probably bogus. However, it's idiotic to think that university graduates would have the same IQ distribution as the general population.
>>9133539
Metaphysics is more pure then both because it doesn't even exist
Any philosophy that isn't defined mathematically isn't real philosophy, so math must be more fundamental.
>>9133539
its more the fact of divergence, mathematics is a method for description, philosophy more of an explanation/prescription. SO interns of purity mathematics is more pure due its descriptive nature rather than philosophy which attempts to derive meaning from something.
>>9133708
Also, when you say the data is way too well correlated, you do understand that there is nothing on the graph for IQ to correlate with, yes? It's just a list, essentially.
>>9133717
But what if mathematics is just the rigurously defined subset of philosophy?
>>9133797
>rigorous
>philosophy
