what does /sci/ actually think of this thing?
i see it passed around but does it cover precalc and trig well enough to confidently get into 1st year stuff without wishing you brushed up on it?
Honestly no. It goes into stuff that you absolutely have no use for in first year calc. Just do ch. 1, the logarithm chapter and the trig chapters in stewart's precalc and you should be fine.
Not a fan of it. Especially for people who haven't done math in a while or had a shit highschool.
Just get a normal Precalc book.
Personally I can't stand the layout of modern textbooks like Stewart's so I prefer

It's pretty great.
You can skip the section on isometries/congruences and the such, it doesn't really matter much.
