Why is there such a bias in science and technology related-fields

It depends on context.
If it's coming from your professor or some such, he's being a cunt.
If it's coming from one of your peers, he's being a tryhard.

I did 67*(10+3*2) because I had 60*3 +7*3 = 180 +21 = 201 on top of my head. It is interesting that there is still some room for preference, but I should probably get in shape again.
