Do you consider Medicine as part of STEM? Do you think Medicine should be a part of STEM? Maybe STEMM?
I always thought that medicine was a part of science in general.
Yes, there are physician-scientists as well as a lot of physicians who are about as scientific as a trade. It varies.

yes medicine is a part of STEM. But it's not discussed often here because most of it is just rote learning and memorisation. Compared to other STEM topics like physics or math, the topics are really boring and doesn't really activate the neurons.

Medicine is more like a detective's work, really. With all that implies.
Unless ot's investigation, then is like the child of biology and demography, with statistics as tutor and a bit of uncle math.

STEM is a meaningless public relations acronym, it's just a stamp collection of disciplines. Anyone who uses STEM or gives two shits about it is a complete brainlet.

I told a pre-med girl i was fucking that i don't respect MDs as much as STEM PhDs and that physicians will be automated with expert systems and she got butthurt about it
>>9112028
Medicine is some combination of science and technology, yes it's classed as STEM.

so, how much math is required for a full medical degree? just algebra for weights and dosis?
>>9112811
The most math you'll have to take is probably calc 1

>physicians will be automated with expert systems
It's highly unlikely most specialists or emergency physicians will be replaced by machines within our lifetimes.
Shit like family docs will likely get outsourced to nurses and eventually machines pretty quickly though

NP's and PA's don't know enough about the physiology and pharmacology to realistically replace Family Docs. Don't get me wrong they could. But it would be substandard service. There is a reason a family doc can also practice ER medicine in most states or do a year fellowship and do sleep medicine or sports medicine, while at the same time a PA/NP is stuck just below a physician.

You need to understand integral calculus; a.k.a Tai's method.
>>9112811
Usually Tai Analysis I, II and III.
Tai Analysis one is usually just the computation side. You will learn about the Tai integral and how to compute it, plus some properties. In Tai Analysis two you get introduced to abstract Tai spaces, which are spaces in which all Tai sequences converge. Finally Tai Analysis 3 is usually about Tai-measurable sets, Tai-topologies and Tai-algebras.
