Keep in mind the speed of light is only constant in a vacuum. Light can be slowed by matter.

Pretty much this, you don't even have to go into relativity to understand this one. If you swing a rock on a string around your head, the rock has a tangental velocity which is constant, but because the direction vector of that velocity is always changing, it has a fixed angular acceleration.
