When will we go to Mars?
Is it even possible (low gravity, cosmic rays, no food for 6 months etc.)
Mars is a lie made up by the government to steal our tax money for NASA.

No, its not even the ambition of spaceX.
they just do this rocket gig to get things started,
once they have enough funds the aim is to shoot up a bunch of satelites that provide high speed internet.

> but.. but... senpai musk says it's a good idea...
No matter how badly we fuck up the Earth, it will still be more fucking hospitable than that red one third fucking G turd out there. So there will never even be a close to reasonable economic reason for developing a colony out there.
And before you say "ooh but our eggs are all in one basket just on Earth"
Let me make it crystal clear it is impossible to develop a truely autonomous colony on Mars due to the requirements to not only keeping structures intact but also people fucking alive for indefinite amounts of time.

It's debatable whether we even have rovers there.

By nonscientists?

No trip to Mars without nuclear thermal rocket. And normies are afraid of.

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>9108412
this reminds me of someone once telling me they didnt want nuclear power because then radiation would come out of their electrical sockets

SpaceX is the only organization with any real plan to go to Mars. NASA used to but they've been redirected to focus on the Moon so they're out of the game for awhile. Musk should have more info at IAC on Sept. 29. It's probably going to be at least a decade before anything happens, but probably longer.
Why did NASA not do the Mars Direct plan?
>>9106806
>spend a third of tax payer money globally on war, vtol fighter jets, and nukes and stuff
>spend 0.001% on an artificial 1 Tesla satellite situated at a Mars Lagrange point to shield entire planet from radiation
Hopefully never. We've already destroyed one planet, we shouldn't be allowed to do it again.
>>9109365
whatever we could do to mars would be an improvement
planets don't have a conscience
planets don't feel pain
planets don't whine
but when there's shit running, fucking, multiplying, dying and thriving on the surface it's way more interesting than a barren wasteland
humans should have seedbombed the place already with genetically modified organisms just for the fuck of it
