you could learn a lot about nurbs curves and solid modeling and shit and work for Autodesk or some other CAD company
it's not really graphics tho but related
you can also work on raytracers and shaders and shit, no idea how much demand there is for engineers in that area

ha. you are going to need more skills than just computer graphics to get a job anywhere. Even if you landed something heavily involved with computer graphics, like 3d animation, you'd need to have a good feel for things like physics.
