How to sound smart/educated/intelligent when talking to someone ?
Its surely not just the use of "fancy" words ? Or is it ?
Fancy words and irrelevant memorized facts, that's how you make the average brainlet think you're a genius.
>>9065621
This is true.
Just watch a few jewtube videos about interesting facts then recite them in a conversation
>>9065617
Thats where trivial knowledge you skip comes into play.
>>9065621
This but also never stammering, stuttering or backpedaling.
Geniuses in the media are always portrayed as well-spoken encyclopedias.

>How to sound smart/educated/intelligent when talking to someone ?
Speak confidently, concisely, and articulate your words. Don't talk about topics you're not very knowledgeable in. Ask lots of questions. Be honest and speak the truth. Learn how to improvise witty banter
Alternatively, you could pull quotes out of your ass and sprinkle in big words when talking, but that's the hallmark of a pseud. Only fags do that.
>>9065636
the question was how to sound smart, not how to be smart
>>9065621
This and putting as many buzzwords as possible in your sentences. Try talking about quantum consciousness here and there.
>>9065641
why not sound smart and be smart at the same time? If you're relying on big words and quotes, you'll just seem like a pretentious try hard, not smart
>>9065641
wtf I'm a genius now?!
>>9065649
of course it is better to both sound smart and be smart, but that's not what OP is asking about i assume
>>9065617
/tg/ convinced me that they're really intelligent and imaginative. Some parts of /g/ too.
/lit/ on the other hand convinced me just how dumb and handicapped they are.
You have to speak in a way that allows people to get redpilled by your ideas. Sometimes, that means polishing your ideas so that they are more accessible and more explanatory. Sometimes, that means developing better interpersonal and public speaking skills. Sometimes, it just means that you need to read more because you're actually pretty ignorant and/or stupid. If nobody feels like your ideas are pointing towards some valid concept or mechanism in the world that they haven't heard before or desperately need to be reminded of, then they won't consider you intelligent.
>>9065617
speak in paragraph form, as if you were writing your thesis
You prose, syntax and diction is incredibly important. For example this anon >>9065661 sounds like shit.
>>9065662
Also, just being around smart people you will notice how they talk.
Don't be a poser if you're actually dumb af though
>>9065669
Sounds like somebody was triggered by the word "redpill".
>>9065617
If you use a lot fancy words you actually sound like an annoying idiot trying to sound smart.
>>9065617
Begin every conversation by telling everyone you're an Oxford graduate with over 300 confirmed PhDs.
But how really depends on who you're talking to. Big words and memorised facts will impress brainlets but geniuses will think you're a parrot with a thesaurus. Actual geniuses will see through any attempt to make yourself seem smarter than you are but cranking your autism up to 11 and counting toothpicks could convince them you have idiot savant powers.

by trying, you'll fail. Just be yourself, and people will remark upon it eventually. If many people who you consider to be intelligent comment on your intelligence, it's probably true. If you have academic achievement, never mention it, let someone else mention it. A good vocabulary, grammar, and annunciation really help as well. Also have respect for everyone, never talk down, ect.
>>9065617
It depends on what observable behavior they think is the mark of intelligence.
"Perception is more important than reality. If someone perceives something to be true, it is more important than if it is in fact true. This doesn’t mean you should be duplicitous or deceitful, but don’t go out of your way to correct a false assumption if it plays to your advantage."
-Ivanka Trump
You guys are idiots. Just be knowledgeable on a wide variety of topics and many people will think you're decently intelligent. It isn't hard. Like most people have no idea how to change their own brake pads or bleed their brake fluid (literally the most trivial car job out there) but you're a borderline professional mechanic to normies if you do happen to know how
>>9066205
Doing things isn't "sounding" smart, it is "being" smart.
>>9065617
make sick analogies
>>9065617
How would you determine if someone is smart/educated/intelligent when you are talking to them?
Unless you have some degree of expertise in the areas they seem to be knowledgeable in, you cannot really verify if they actually know their shit or if they are bluffing through conversation alone.
You can always lean upon rules-of-thumb when being the evaluator/evaluated. See
>>9066195
At the end of the day, the proof is in the pudding.
Knowing is doing / seeing done.
>>9065841
Dumb people usually sound smarter than smart people.
>>9065617
Normies are devoid of skills and actual interests. Any indication of them means you're a genius in their eyes. "Fancy" words will definitely work too, normies will mistake it for intellect. Don't overdo it as to sound like an annoying autistic cunt though. Be reserved and concise in you "fancy" word usage.
Bruce Lee always struck me as sounding unusually intelligent and knowledgeable for his background / profession. Maybe if you figure out why (idk) you'll have the key.
>>9065617
Speak a lot in specific terms about something normies usually don't know jack about.
I can get called smart even by just describing how fightans work to newbies
>>9065661
>Sometimes
>Sometimes
>Sometimes

Now this is a pseud
>>9066535
Smart people are always surrounded by doubts
>>9066687
And they also have shit syntax I suppose.
>>9066714
Only the smart but lazy ones.
>>9065661
This guy here sounds like a brainlet, disregard his post OP.
>>9065617
No way. Everyone is brainlet. And smart-looking cuck probably is bigger brainlet than you.
>>9066901
Just go away man
