perception of time is a neuronal function. there are some circuits inside your cortex, hippocampus, thalamus, whatever that mediate it. during sleep, they get falsely activated, or falsely synchronized, giving you that illusion.

How many folks here have also spend a year in the dreamworld? I actually haven't, but I know at least one friend who claimed he was back in high school for a full goddamn year.

My own experiences differ in that I typically only run around for minutes at a time, but somehow I get fooled into thinking I was *always* in the dream world, no matter how absurd my surroundings are, relative to waking life.

The only time the spell is broken is when I ask myself "How did I get here?" and it becomes so obvious I'm asleep, and I'll basically wake up on the spot. Infrequently occurs to ask the question, though.

I don't know if it's different for some people but when I look back on what I remember of dreams I feel like I only actually experienced a few minutes' worth of content and just imagined the rest to fill the gaps. Like in an hour long movie that spans 6 months, it jumps forward in time constantly, but our brain has no problems just assuming that everything you didn't see happened offscreen.

I also cant remember my dreams 99% of the time when sober or high.

I dont know about "year long" dreams, but i have had "epic" dreams as i like to call them, where long periods of time pass in the dream including different "scenes", like one may be during the day, another at night, another during the day again, for absolute sure time is passing but it could be just a day or a month, in the dream, it varies.

To answer your question, time dilation due to DMT. If you've ever smoked DMT you'd understand time dilation more, the one time i did it i would have sworn 2 hours went by, when it was confirmed only 10-15 minutes. lane avenida
