I'm going to college for environmental science technologies, and I would love to do some volunteer work, try and help out a bit. But I can't find any volunteer work relating to the environment in my area, other than like the adopt a lake stuff, which I can't find any groups doing. How do I find volunteer work? Anybody know any places? I'm in North Carolina if that helps.

Uhh, what? Sounds like a bs degree that's neither a legitimate science nor going to get you a jov. Switch now

You are insane -- there's all kind of money in this, if you go after it.

Op here, I should have clarified that it's a 2 year transfer program.
Go into either climate science or environmental engineering.

Take some classes on local biodiversty, and do it yourself. go find a wildlife biologist or ecologist near you and ask them. They will be more than happy to help.
You should also just nut up and pursue ecology. What are you intrested in?

My end goal is to eventually get a degree in soil science. Always been more interested in the geological side, but more a for sure environmentally focused if that makes sense.
