The misuse comes from not raising the idea that a relationship between factors or events might have confounding variable involved.

Many times when people are trying to point out the flaws in evidence brought to an argument they bring up the correlation-causation statement when in fact they should be really stating confounding instead.

In regards to op's post they are correlating masturbation to the thinning/ loss of hair. They are also correlating acne to masturbation as well.

Two confounding factors they may have not taken into account is the possibility of them having hormone imbalance and inconsistent hygiene.
