the theory of relativity killed the newtonian absolutistic view of world, and created a new paradigm of how to look at macrocosmos and microcosmos (basics of quantuum theory), and also sort of "fixed" the speed of light, which was up to that time considered to be infinite.

I think Lorentz was still holding on to the idea that time passed at the same rate for all observers. Einstein abandoned that concept completely.

General relativity. The mathematical framework existed before Einstein's rise to fame, but he was the one that actually figured out the relation between these and our universe, this resulted in special relativity. However, special relativity wasn't the amazing thing that made him famous. General relativity took concepts in special relativity and created an all encompassing frame work to understand gravity. And it shows, general relativity is orders of magnitude more complex than special relativity. It took a very smart mind to put it together.
