Screens + vision.

My flashes & floaters are so much worse when reading from an LCD screen.
You're also probably affected by being constantly distracted by the interactivity of a computer, head position/type of seat etc.

If I wasn't piss poor I'd buy an e-reader tbqh. Or new eyes. Depending how much money we're talking about.

This, it helped me a lot. I also print relevant chapters if they're not very big.

Position.
All ur life u had a certain position while learning and reading textbook. It's not the same when you read from screen. U're a creature of habits, and u shall work with them.
Taking note will force you to adopt, sometimes, your old reading position, and help (alongside with actually taking notes and copying stuffs) memorize better.

Screens.
Frequency and light spectrum are not the same and exhaust your eyes and brain quicker. It's then harder to focus and memorize. Consider switching to e-ink devices.

Distraction and rythm of reading.
Self-explanatory.
>>
I read so much from a computer screen at a desk I am fully comfortable with that I'm convinced I learn better that way.

I usually end up reading digital editions of the textbooks I own.

Transcription does wonders for understanding and learning.
Don't just read the text that's rookie stuff, you gotta transcribe everything in a separate document. Only then can you gaurentee sink in-ing.

I'm aware that Imgur.com will stop allowing adult images since 15th of May. I'm taking actions to backup as much data as possible.
