Roads in the US aren't really built for bicycle use, it'd be pretty inconvenient. Bike lanes are rarer than they should be. I want to ride a bike myself but to do so I either have to ride in the road and and make everyone behind me go slow like a dick or ride on the sidewalk.

Seems like the real solution is ot make the unhealthy people start biking.

Also the US is way too big for this to be feasible. A lot of people commute 20+ miles to work, and you don't want people spending 4 hours a day biking to an 8hour job.
