is there a software where I can just define the variables, give them a value, type an expression and solve it without having to do fancy shit for summations?
>>8954558
SageMath can, although I'm not completely sure what you're asking. Example?
>>8954564
I need to calculate the value of p0 in pic related for different set of values of the variables
>>8954572
My TI-84 could do that, there's probably an online version somewhere.

Can't you just use Python (or any programming language for that matter)? You'd need a for loop for a summation, hopefully you don't consider that "fancy shit"

dude I'm in economics

Then what is that formula for?
import math
s = 1
l = 1
mu = 1
p_0 = 0
for n in range(s):
p_0 += pow(l / mu, n) / math.factorial(n) + pow(l / mu, s) / math.factorial(s) * s * mu / (s * mu - l)
p_0 = 1 / p_0
Anyways copy that in a file and run it. l is lambda, change the values to whatever you need. Also make sure you use python 3.

oh thanks, it's queueing theory

Mathematica

Me too, but that isn't a justification for not knowing at least one programming language in this age. However if you are an undergrad I suppose that is normal, at that level there are some people who can't even use excel.
