I want preface this with saying that I have a basic understanding of physics and am in no way an expert, so I apologize in advance if this is completely wrong and stupid.

That being said, I had a question about using nuclear fusion energy for devices such as warp drive engines. Is it possible and what amount energy do you think it would take to power such a device?
>>
atleast three thousand keka joules
>>
>>8922059

So you're saying it's possible, despite using a false measurement of energy?
>>
>>8922057
nigga we have no goddamned idea how to make one much less how much juice will it take to power it.
that said fusion reactor is hands down the most powerful thing you could possibly have on a ship generating electricity without going for obscure shit like antimatter or fucking portable blackholes or whatever
>>
>>8922070

I have theory so check this out, taking the same principles of super colliding and basically funneling atoms and forcing them to collide in the least possible amount of space and harnessing that energy into electrical power.
>>
>>8922080
correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't particle acceleration require massive amounts of external power supply?
>>
>>8922101

That's the only obstacle I have in this theory but I had thought of using solar energy. The only problem with that is how much you would need to generate and how many panels that would take. I estimate it would take a few square miles dedicated solely to solar energy farms to produce the needed energy. Once that is taken care of you could use that electricity to power the device and produce even more energy than you would have been able to with any other source.
>>

Panels are useless in interstellar space and they have shitty energy density compared even to burning wood, let alone fission or fusion,
but I give you B+ for trying hard.
>>
>>8922121

So what about using the panels on a terrestrial surface? Could the theory be applied to generating power on Earth?
>>
>>8922127
I would have have to actually go look up how much juice they're pumping into the LHC and how much are they getting in return by slamming shit together, but I honestly don't think this is a viable power generation method m8.
>>
>>8922130

Aye. I was guessing as much, I just wanted to prose the the question. Thanks for your patience in answering my theory.

That's not a theory, you faggot. It's not even a hypothesis.
