For what end. What will knowing the ultimate truth bring you? What you need to study are all the natural sciences and philosophy. You will be able to make the most of the outside world with this knowledge. Making the most of your inside world requires you to live. To have experiences. Both good and bad. Devastating, infuriating, irrational, exalting. When you can by merely a glance and some body language, precisely and fully tune in to what that other person thinks, and have them know what you think, of the most complex situation or subject. Then you are alive. Your mission in life is to find these people. If you are lucky you will find one or a few, maybe only for a few fleeting moments, but in a moment like that you will know what the meaning of life is.

Science doesn't deal in truth, religion doesn't deal in reality. Study math if truth is what you desire, physics if an understanding of reality is what you desire, and religion if mental masturbation is what you desire.

You won't find it in science. Science explains the phenomena, and is updated when new experiences fail to fit within current theory. It isn't so arrogant to purport to get at some ultimate truth.

You won't find it in philosophy. No philosopher since Kant, credible ones anyway imo, would even attempt to say their work is to get at some ultimate truth. Because Kant showed that to be beyond our ability.

You might get it in religion, but you would have to answer to why this particular one and not some other that offers the ultimate truth. Then we are back at philosophy.
