What's the secret to life /sci/?
In high school I was told college is where life truly begins, and during college I was told life begins after that, and now having worked 2 years into my profession, I'm not sure life has truly begun.
Has anyone broken the chains of monotony?
You start life, life doesn't start itself. What life is, is determined by you.

Respect that point of view, but also feel restrained with a few thousand left on student loans and the need to save money. It'd be nice to live life at this age, not in my 30s or 40s

Well, it's nothing very special. Try to be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations.

Start listening to audiobooks. There are a lot of usable tips in there. Maybe start with Politics by Aristotle. How to get and maintain a good family. And help other people. They give you friendship in return. Then follow your dick. Women expect you to, others do it and those who don't ask the questions you do.
Life is what happens when you are to busy living it.

you'll discover the "secret"
although this isn't to be confused with meaning
the secret can be known, meaning doesn't exist and knowledge is ephemeral

I just ended a three year relationship instead of getting married, I've quit my job of four years, I've sold my car, and I'm about to travel to Europe and spend an unknown amount of time travelling around on a motorbike.
I still cannot quite believe I've made these decisions, but breaking free of monotony can be done. You just need balls.

Enjoy what you do every day and it won't be monotonous. That and have a little fun after work. Spend your free time effectively. Actually enjoy it instead of posting on 4Chan. Waste less time on technology; less TV, less endless browsing of useless stuff on the internet. Spend more time with people. Get a hobby you enjoy. Meet a girl. Play an instrument. Take a walk and enjoy your surroundings instead of thinking of your walk as monotonous.

maybe sit down with youself or something and really figure out what "life beginning" means to you. getting a gf/wife, becoming famous, discovering something, traveling, having friends, providing for yourself, providing for others, inventing things, building things...etc
figure out what "life beginning" would look like to you, in the future or present and figure out what you need to do to get there.
Other pepole have their own visions of what life is to them, and you likely wont match up 1:1 with that vision. Figure it out yourself and the things you need to do to have it. That's life beginning.
