Humble painter here.
Explain to me:
1. What you are studying.
2. How you will make money in the real world once you get whatever it is you are studying for.

That's if I pass. [math] SPOILER %outlook is bleak [/math]

1. Electrical engineering
2. By doing electrical engineering jobs.
1.mechanical or mechatronic engineering
2. I have little idea beyond applying for jobs that list my proficiencies. I really only went into engineering because I love math and building things.

1. Theoretical physics
2. Probably simulating industry stuff. This is my final semester. I actually have no clue.
Software Engineering.
I have specific interest in a set of very specific problems, and I have very little motivation to work on things I don't find fun.
My plans are either make money doing embedded programming, conning other software engineers/computer scientists, or working as a carpenter.
I'll probably write extremely specific research papers in the extremely autistic, non-useful and un-tapped field of my interest for half of my life.

1. Mathematics and physics
2. Simulating... Something. Probably. I hear the local hospital needs people who knows quantum physics for their MRI machines?

Mechanical Engineering
I got a job lined up doing cryogenic gas liquefaction for a semi-conductor manufacturer.
1. Mathematics and physics.
2. I won't need a job after I've proven the Riemann hypothesis, but probably in the adult entertainment industry.
