Fascinating how the kids who had severe ADHD grew up and don't have it anymore, wouldn't you say?

Only a small percentage of people diagnosed with ADHD actually suffer from dopamine deficiency in the prefrontal cortex. Just because it's overdiagnosed so often doesn't mean it doesn't exist. But Doctors that prescribe drugs like Adderall have to meet with their patients every so often, making it one of the most profitable disorders.

Whether ADHD is real or not matters to me less than actually being able to have easy access to the medication, since the difference in productivity and quality of life is so staggeringly contrasting. Maybe I am just a lazy slog with low tolerance to pain who just needs to get his shit together, embrace the hardships of life and keep going, but fuck me if having a bit more dopamine in my brain doesn't make it that much easier.

Medicating children is done to alleviate adult stress. This is such an open secret in the psych community that it's not even funny.

it probably does exist just overdiagnosed. it is a predictable consequence of low dopamine. i have focus issues and daydream a shit ton and can actually finish my work if im on stims, which increase dopamine activity. im umironically the smart but lazy stereotype, i get work done well and fast amd im at a phd level but i can barely start or stay focused. there might be some other mental issue at play but stims definitely fix whatever it is. erdos loved em too.

adhd can be thought of as a spectrum
